Harp Lessons

Harp Lessons for All Ages and all Levels!

You will know you are in good hands when you choose to study harp with me. I am not only passionate about sharing my love of music for others, but also have the skills and training necessary to help students achieve. I earned my doctorate of musical arts degree from the University of Southern California, with a major in Harp Performance and minor in Music Education. I have played on many film soundtracks including Cars and The Spiderwick Chronicles. Recently, I also performed in the Los Angeles Opera’s production of Wagner’s Ring Cycle and with the rock band Weezer. See biography for more information.

My students receive clear instruction, a strong technical foundation, a wealth of repertoire choices, and learn to express themselves musically. The student’s well-being and goals are the first priorities of every lesson, creating the optimum environment for learning.

My passion for music was nurtured by wonderful, caring teachers (most notably JoAnn Turovsky) and I feel it is a great pleasure and an important task to share what I have learned with others. If you are just starting harp, working with me is a great opportunity to develop your skills with a teacher who will take you seriously from the beginning so you can learn solid technique, beautiful sound production, and really enjoy the process! If you already have some experience with the harp, we can identify a set of goals to take your playing to the next level, along with a plan to reach them.

If you are interested, but not sure if harp lessons are right for you or you child, please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have. If you would like, you are also welcome to set up a free trial lesson, with no obligation to continue. Feel free to contact me to set up a date and time. My teaching hours are flexible to fit into your schedule.

Lessons are available at my home studio in Pasadena, or at your home.

I have been wanting to take harp lessons for several years.
I have taken piano lessons in the past, but that didn’t really stick, but then again I didn’t keep up the practice. I live in Sunland and I am contacting you as well as several other harp teachers convenient to my location.

I would only be available on saturdays for lessons.

Can you tell me if you if have availability on Saturday and the rates?

    Thank you.

Thanks for teaching me, Allison! You always seem to be able to come up with new tricks and methods for me to use in my studies – I’ve learned so much from you!

Hi Maggie, Thanks so much! You are a great student and I’m glad to hear that you are continuing to enjoy lessons! I will see you in a little bit. I think we’re just about ready to start some new repertoire?
